It’s that euphoric time once again! It gives me immense pleasure
to welcome you to the 2nd Bahrain International Corporate Social
Responsibility Conference and Exhibition 2015. We are indeed
honoured to hold this significant event under the esteemed
patronage of His Excellency Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al
Khalifa, Minister of Finance, Minister in charge of Oil & Gas Affairs,
Kingdom of Bahrain.
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR,) also referred to as Social Performance or Sustainable Responsible Business, is a built-in, self-regulatory mechanism whereby businesses ensures their active role in giving back to the societies they operate in. The goal of CSR is to embrace responsibility for company actions and encourage a positive impact on the environment, consumers, employees, communities and stakeholders.
Many companies examine exactly how effective their branding is and how they are perceived by their customers and the general public. All else being equal, companies that take an active role in promoting their corporate social responsibility programmes are generally viewed more favourably than those that do not have highly visible programmes. Having goals and a vision for your company that go beyond products and profits definitely provides a warmer image of your business that consumers will be more eager to engage with.
While many revel in the performance of the 1st Bahrain International Corporate Social Responsibility Conference and Exhibition held during 03-06 March, 2013, the second edition is also brimming with possibilities. This event will be well attended by regional and international organisations across the globe. This makes it a unique platform for government authorities, the private sector, companies, agencies, experts and the general public to meet and discuss the latest CSR trends worldwide. It also provides an opportunity for participants to better reflect on their social corporate responsibility commitment in serving the community. This exhibition is the ideal platform for local, regional and international organizations to showcase their completed or ongoing CSR projects. For organisations that choose to make use of this prospect, the possibilities are endless.
With your participation, I am confident that we will be a step closer towards achieving the event’s theme: “Beyond Eco-Industrialism: Paving the way for a better tomorrow.”
I look forward to meeting you at this international gathering.
